Black woman Ranesha Scyrus, killed riding home from work – teen driver said he thought he hit a deer, her body found in his truck bed

💔 Ranesha Scyrus had just turned 22. She was simply trying to make it home from work.

On September 10, Ranesha was riding her scooter home in Oklahoma City when police say a 17-year-old driver struck her from behind. The teen later told police he thought he had hit a deer. Instead of calling 911 immediately, he drove to his mother’s job — and Ranesha was later found in the bed of his truck.

Police were not called until roughly two hours after she was hit. First responders tried to save her, but Ranesha did not survive. Police also said the teen showed signs of intoxication and may have been recording on his phone before the crash.

For Ranesha’s mother, those missing hours are impossible to understand. Ranesha was her only child, and she is now demanding answers about what happened between the moment her daughter was struck and the moment help was finally called.

Her mother shared one heartbreaking thought: she wishes Ranesha had simply called and asked her for a ride home — because she would have come. 💔

22 years old. On her way home from work. A mother left grieving her only child and still searching for answers. Rest peacefully, Ranesha. 🖤
