Meet the Lawrence sisters – six Black women who turned homelessness into hope
After overcoming homelessness, six sisters are now united in their pursuit of nursing degrees and dream of opening a center to support other families in need.

✨🖤 Six sisters. One family. And a story that could’ve easily gone another way.
The Lawrence sisters from Queens — all between the ages of 19 and 25 — experienced homelessness together, earned their GEDs, went on to graduate from SUNY with degrees in public health, and are now continuing their journey toward nursing school.
Through every setback, their father kept pushing education and reminding them that their circumstances did not get to decide their future.
Now the sisters are working toward an even bigger dream: opening the Lawrence Sisters Nursing Center and turning everything they survived into something that can help other families heal.
They didn’t just make it through — they’re building something from it. 🖤
