Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Dr. Gabrielle Henry sues Miss Universe after 5-foot stage fall left her with a traumatic brain injury – “I did not trip”

💔 She went to Thailand to represent Jamaica on one of the world’s biggest pageant stages. She left with a traumatic brain injury.

Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Dr. Gabrielle Henry, an ophthalmology resident, is now suing the Miss Universe Organization nearly a year after her November 2025 fall during the preliminary competition. Henry says she was following rehearsed instructions when she fell roughly five feet through what her lawsuit describes as an unmarked, uncovered opening in the stage. She lost consciousness and suffered a traumatic brain injury with multiple brain bleeds, requiring weeks of hospitalization.

And Henry is pushing back against the idea that she simply stumbled. “I did not trip,” she said while recounting the fall. She says the injuries changed nearly every part of her life — including interrupting the medical career she had worked toward for years and leaving her with ongoing neurological and cognitive symptoms.

Henry filed her lawsuit on September 21, alleging negligence and unsafe stage conditions. The Miss Universe Organization has said it had not been formally served when it responded publicly and said local production entities were responsible for the venue, stage and on-site safety. The organization also says it covered medical treatment after Henry’s accident.

Nearly a year later, Gabrielle is still rebuilding a life she says changed in seconds. A crown, a medical career and a moment she had worked years for — all overshadowed by one terrifying fall. 🖤
