Seven Black women. Seven perfect 4.0 GPAs. Spelman College’s class of 2026 makes history with record-breaking valedictorians
Seven brilliant Black women from the Spelman College class of 2026 achieved a historic milestone by graduating with perfect grade point averages.

👏🏾🎓 Seven Black women. Seven valedictorians. Seven perfect 4.0 GPAs. THIS is Spelman excellence.
Spelman College’s Class of 2026 made history with Aiyana Ringo, Alyssa Richardson, Nia-Sarai Perry, Cori’Anna White, Sophia Davis, Mariama Diallo and Alexis Sims all graduating as valedictorians — the largest number in the historically Black women’s college’s history.
And these women weren’t all studying the same thing. Their majors stretched across biochemistry, sociology, philosophy, political science, documentary filmmaking, psychology and more — with plans that include medicine, law, art and other fields. Aiyana Ringo put the moment beautifully: “seeing seven Black women accomplish that shows our brilliance and our excellence.”
Seven women reaching the very top of their class together? We love everything about this. Black girls continue to show us what excellence looks like. 🖤✨
