Did you know? Andrea Motley Crabtree made history as the first Black woman deep-sea diver
Andrea Motley Crabtree made history in 1982 by becoming the first Black female deep-sea diver in the U.S. military.
🌊🖤 Before most of us ever heard her name, Andrea Motley Crabtree was already making history underwater.
In 1982, Andrea Motley Crabtree became the first Black woman deep-sea diver in the U.S. military and the first woman in the U.S. Army to graduate from the Navy’s Second Class Diver School.
She stepped into a space where women — especially Black women — were rarely seen and proved she belonged there.
Her name deserves to be remembered right alongside the history she made. 🖤
