25-year-old Black woman Regan Hutsell makes history as Miss America 2027 — crowned while proudly wearing her natural hair

At just 25 years old, Regan Hutsell represented Texas and was crowned Miss America 2027, becoming the first Black woman to win the Miss America crown while wearing her natural hair.

Regan has shared that she once questioned whether she should straighten her hair for pageants, but ultimately chose to show up as herself. Now, her historic win is giving little Black girls another reminder that their natural beauty belongs on every stage — even one of the biggest in America. 👑✨

She also brought the Miss America crown back to Texas for the first time in 51 years.
